چکیده

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a pest control method that combines several techniques by considering ecological, economic, and sociological consequences. efforts with IPM principles can be conducted cultivating healthy plants entomopathogen application. This study examined the package's success for controlling fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) in maize field. research was farmer's plantation West Pasaman District from August to December 2021. The used Randomized Block Design (RBD) which consisted of three treatments five replications. were different cultivation using IPM, Non-IPM, control. variables observed population S. frugiperda (individual/plant), attack rate (%), intensity cob weight (g/cob), farming cost (IDR). results showed Non-IPM had no effect on frugiperda, especially survival stage, rate, intensity, yield. However, this higher than In addition, economic benefits non-IPM. Therefore, package recommended because it also economically profitable environmentally friendly.

Cry1F Resistance in Fall Armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda: Single Gene versus Pyramided Bt Maize

Evolution of insect resistance to transgenic crops containing Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) genes is a serious threat to the sustainability of this technology. However, field resistance related to the reduced efficacy of Bt maize has not been documented in any lepidopteran pest in the mainland U.S. after 18 years of intensive Bt maize planting. Here we report compelling evidence of field resistan...

Investigating the Molecular Mechanisms of Organophosphate and Pyrethroid Resistance in the Fall Armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda

The fall armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda is an economically important pest of small grain crops that occurs in all maize growing regions of the Americas. The intensive use of chemical pesticides for its control has led to the selection of resistant populations, however, to date, the molecular mechanisms underlying resistance have not been characterised. In this study the mechanisms involved in t...

Population Variation of the Fall Armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda, in the Western Hemisphere

Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), the fall armyworm is the most economically important maize pest in the western hemisphere. This research focused on the genetic variability of the maize host strain because there is a lack of information in this area of S. frugiperda research. Amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) was used to assess the genetic variability of ...

Distribution of elongation factor-1α in larval tissues of the fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda

Elongation factor-1alpha (EF-1alpha) promotes the delivery of aminoacyl-tRNA to the acceptor site of the ribosome during protein synthesis. The enzyme has a number of additional functions, including regulation of apoptosis and interaction with the cytoskeleton. We determined the distribution of EF-1alpha in larval tissues of the fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda , with a monoclonal antibody ...
